They've Been This Way Since Before They Were Born

Mealtime is always an interesting part of the day. It's become more difficult since the girls decided that they like to feed themselves. Anyway, the way they feed themselves explains a lot about them and perhaps sheds light on why Tess was only 3 lbs. 11 oz. when she was born.

Tess likes to eat but would rather play with her food:

Mary LOVES to eat and you better not interrupt her:

Their methods definitely fit their personalities:

Stockton's Buddies

Stockton is really in a good place right now. The progress he's made in the last 9 months is wonderful! He's doing so well in preschool and in primary--you'd still be able to see that something is different about him, but he's starting to blend in. We had a follow-up visit with the doctor who gave Stockton his diagnosis last week and the doctor felt very optimistic about Stockton's future. Of course, the doctor couldn't make any predictions, but he thought is was very realistic that Stockton will have a pretty typical adult life--that college, a mission, and even marriage were still possible. I couldn't be happier!

I am so grateful to all of those that have worked with Stockton and who have helped him get to the point where he's at. Every therapist, teacher, ABA instructor has made such an impact in his life. He loves them all, too! It's very typical for Stockton to mention everyone by name in his prayers each night. Thanks for being Stockton's buddies!

Two of Stockton's favorite people, James and Christian (We were having a meeting and Stockton came in the room and jumped right in between the two--it was pretty cute):

Sunday, after church (When Stockton falls asleep, he is out cold):
It's hard to tell, but Mary is watching the TV. Both girls love Sesame Street:

New Year's Eve Bingo

It's been a tradition in the Evans family to play Bingo on Thanksgiving. When I first joined the family, I thought this was a little strange, only that Bingo seems like a children's game or a senior citizen's game, but I quickly realized that it is fun for all ages. Enough so, that on New Year's Eve, when we were hosting a party for my family we decided to play Bingo. It was the hit of the evening! Who knew?
