Tess' Homecoming
We were able to bring our little Tess home last Friday. The nurses in the special care nursery all said that they knew she wouldn't be in there long--Tess is far too spunky. She was discharged from the hospital at her birth weight, 3 lbs 11 oz, but she maintains a good temperature and eats well--there wasn't much reason to keep her in the hospital any longer. She has done wonderfully at home and has already gained 4 more ounces!
Finally reunited with Mary.Posted by Maquel at 4:54 PM 3 comments

The Girls Have Arrived!
Clark and I had our twins October 6, 2009 at 7:36 and 7:37 pm. I wasn't scheduled to be induced until the 9th, but after my doctor's visit last Tuesday, they decided to deliver the girls a few days sooner.
Everything went very well. I was told to expect to have a c-section since baby "B" would be too small to handle labor. But, as it turned out, she did very well and I was able to have a natural delivery (the delivery of these babies was even easier than my first).
Mary Gail Evans was born first at 7:36. She weighed 5 lbs 6 oz and stretched out to be 18 inches long. Tess Ginger Evans was pulled out by the ankles a minute later at 7:37. She weighed 3 lbs 11 oz and measured to be 17 inches.
Doctor Clark. Even though I had a natural delivery, everyone was dressed for a c-section.

"Dad, Where Are You"
Stockton has a daily routine to wait for Clark to come home from work by the window. Usually, he only waits about ten minutes before Clark finally arrives, but sometimes, if Clark is running late, he will wait for 30-45 minutes.
I normally sit with Stockton during this process, but yesterday, he asked me to leave the room. I thought that was somewhat strange but didn't fight the issue (I was just excited to have the opportunity to lay down). About 30 minutes later (yes, Clark was running late), I started to think that Stockton was being unusually quiet. Normally, he plays with the blinds or makes comments about the cars driving by. When I went in to check on him I found him fast asleep. He was out cold! He didn't budge when Clark got home or when we called his name--I think he finally crashed from his tonsillectomy ten days ago. It's amazing the positions kids can sleep in.
