Clark is in Trouble!

Clark hurt Stockton while roughhousing so Stockton pulled out a piece of paper and took away one minute of recess. He said that Clark can get it back if he is gentle for 20 minutes.

Mary's New Do

I've always thought that Mary's hair was naturally curly but the older she gets, the straighter her hair gets.  Unfortunately, I think her hair will be like mine with just enough natural curl to make styling it annoying.  But, at least I know how to style it.  Mary got her first "bob" haircut last week.  She looks so adorable and so much older.  My girls are growing up way too fast!

ABC Stuff

This winter has been COLD!  I never want to leave the house but with three year-old twins at home I also go a little crazy cooped up all day.  I was a much better mother with Stockton.  I'd take him on an outing everyday.  More for my sake than for his--it passed the time.  But with the girls, outings require much more work and I sometimes I don't think it's worth the effort.  Then I feel guilty that the twins aren't having the same opportunities Stockton had.

Which brings me to ABC stuff.  Because I haven't been going anywhere, my girls have watched a lot of TV this winter (which I hate).  So I decided to become creative and steal my sister-in-law's ABC Stuff to give us something to do during the day and also so my girls brains don't turn to mush.  So far, it has been really fun for everyone involved and we are all happier.

Here is a glimpse of our A-week.  Art projects are not my forte, but I've been surprised that being creative isn't that hard.  Just so long as I get to steal someone else's idea.  Stockton has also been surprised by my creative juices.  He came home from school one day and saw the following art projects on the fridge.  He asked me if the girls did those while he was at school.  I told him they did.  Then he asked, "Did they do them at Aunt Laura's house?"  I guess it will take a long time before my kids think I'm creative.

100 Years Old or Amish?

For the 100th day of school, the 1st graders were suppose to dress like they are 100 years old.  Stockton normally has a lot of school spirit, so I thought he'd be really excited for this.  Unfortunately, he had something else in mind on the eventful day.  I had a wig and a pipe and some baggy pants for him to wear, as well as the hat and glasses, but alas, he didn't want to wear any of it.  He refused to wear his pants high, he wouldn't touch the wig, he didn't want to carry the pipe or wear the glasses, and of course, he did not want me to paint wrinkles on him.  The only thing he was excited about was his old-man hat.  So between that and his white turtle neck he looked more Amish than 100 years old.  His teacher probably wondered what I was thinking sending him to school, looking like this:

We Are A Happy Family

I feel so blessed to have such great children!  Most of the time, my kids get along so well and have a lot of fun together.  I'm so grateful that they can be friends and that Mary and Tess help can Stockton learn to play.

Stockton helps the girls, too.  He is a great big brother.  Here he is helping Tess get her coat on:

I love my sweet kids!
