Merry Christmas

Stockton's Baptism

Stockton was baptized last week.  It was such a special day!  He has been so excited to be baptized and he was glowing all day.  There is still a lot Stockton doesn't understand about the gospel, but he tries everyday to be better and he loves Jesus.  He wanted to be baptized because Jesus was baptized.  The spirit was very strong throughout the day.

Stockton was really excited to wear matching outfits with Dad.

Whoever was suppose to fill the font didn't fill the font.  Poor Stockton got baptized in cold water.  He didn't seem to mind too much though.

Bowling

Even after 20 years, things fall right back into place with no effort.

Tawny and the Girls

Whether she likes it or not, Tawny has some loyal friends in Mary and Tess.  The girls love playing with her, whether its making her more comfortable when she's sleeping or putting her in a head-lock.  It's true love!

Trimming the Tree

My kids were so excited to decorate for Christmas this year.  Everyday, during the week of Thanksgiving, they would ask if today was the day we got to put up the Christmas tree.  Their enthusiasm made for a fun and special decorating Friday.

First Football and Basketball Games

Stockton went to his first college football and basketball games.  We've never thought Stockton would like the games because he gets so anxious with loud noises and applause, but he surprised us once again.  He LOVED both games!  The football game was a BYU game in a snow storm.  That reason alone made me think this was going to be a negative experience.  But he really paid attention to the game and was very interested in the score.  Luckily, BYU crushed the other team.  Go Cougars!

My parents took Stockton to the U of U basketball game.  Stockton probably enjoyed this a little more because he got popcorn, ice cream, a basketball, a t-shirt that he caught, and he got on the jumbo-tron.  In his own words, "We got some lucky stuff."  He was also very much into the game and curious about the score.  The U won.  Go UTES!

Stockton Gets Stitches

I'm actually surprised that we haven't had this experience yet, but Stockton got stitches a few weeks ago.  The ironic thing is that he wasn't even rough-housing when it happened.  He was walking next to the coffee table and tripped on a blanket that was on the floor and hit the edge of his ear on the coffee table.  I was upstairs when it happened but luckily Clark was right with him.  When I came down, all I saw was a trail of blood from the living room to the bathroom.

Stockton was hysterical and worried that he would die because he lost so much blood.  We reassured him that he was going to be fine and told him that he would just need stitches.  For some reason, the thought of stitches put him into a panic.  No one close to us has ever got stitches in Stockton's lifetime but he was scared to death to get stitches.  When we got the E.R. the doctor decided to give him a stronger anesthesia because he was so anxious.  That was probably a wise decision.

Waiting for the doctor:

The damage.  This actually looks a little better than when it first happened:

After he got stitched but before he woke from the anesthesia:

Waking up.  This is what made a 2-hour trip to the E.R. a 5-hour trip.  He kept throwing up afterwards and we couldn't leave until he was able to keep some juice down.  Stockton was completely out of it.  He said the funniest things.  First, he said to Clark, "Dad I need a kiss," which was really sweet.  But then he said, "When will I be regular again?" "Will you wait with me until I'm regular again?" "I want to feel like I'm eight years-old again." "Dad, you sound like your 34.  You need to get back to 37."  Poor kid.

What Stockton's ear looked like when we left.

U of U Football

It was a depressing loss to Arizona State but I had the best time at the U of U football game with my daddy.

Dedicated Husband

My cute husband needed to get a long run in before the Las Vegas Ragnar.  I had to do errands that Saturday so he took the kids with him on his run.  That's dedication.

Stockton Turns Eight!

I can's believe that my little boy is eight years-old!  No one could have predicted eight years ago the journey that this boy would take us on--it's been a roller coaster to say the least--but he is one of my greatest blessings!  We have come so far and he is doing so well!  He is so smart and sweet and he strives to be the best he can everyday.  From day one he has been celestial and even through the rough days, that has never changed.  I don't know what I did to deserve one of God's elect, but I am truly humbled to be his mother.

We surprised Stockton at school and took him out to lunch on his birthday.
