I'm sure most of you teach your kids to pray before they turn three, but Stockton said his very first prayer last night. It was the sweetest thing ever! With all the things going on in Stockton's life, praying hasn't been something I've pushed. Last night, I decided to give it a try, expecting to talk him through every word. I told Stockton to fold his arms so that we could say his prayers, and he immediately began saying, "Heavenly Father, thank you for day, thank you for food . . ." He then looked at me and I helped him with the rest of his prayer. I was so touched! I praised him and he laughed, and then he went on to repeat his prayer again. I am embarrassed to admit it, but I had know idea he had learned to pray. I feel so grateful for his primary/nursery leaders, who obviously taught him what I should have tried to teach earlier.

Example is a very powerful teaching tool. I am sure that his ability to say prayers has been through your example at home and because of his teachers. And I am pretty sure I cried when William said his first prayer. Aren't we mothers silly?
just wait...one of the first things easton said on the food was "please bless the food that it will get better"... =)
That is just so, so sweet.
way to go Stockton. I know it always makes me proud when my kids want to pray. i'm sure you are very proud!
Oh my, how sweet is that?? That is one of my favorite memories of each of my kids. Their first prayer. It's just so innocent and adorable! You are such a good mom, Stockten is cute as they come.
totally cool! They soak up a lot more then we think. I'm always surprised at what they remember.
