New York

Clark and I had the opportunity to go to New York last month, just the two of us.  It has been a long time since we were able to do that and we enjoyed every minute!  We went for my old roommate's wedding but decided to make a mini vacation out of it.  We've both been to New York before so we didn't feel like we had to go and "see" anything.  Mostly, we just walked and walked and walked around Manhattan, but we did see a couple of Broadway plays and the Mets Yankees game.  It was such a fun trip!

We spent a lot of time in FAO Schwartz.  This was a pleasant surprise!  I had never been there before and, having kids, made this such a fun outing.  It really is the coolest toy store ever!

Notice anything funny about this picture?  It was very wet outside which called for desperate measures.  Clark, unfortunately, was wearing shoes that would have been ruined in the rain so . . . here you go (I'm not sure what's worse, Clark wearing my shoes or Clark being able to, somewhat, fit into my shoes):

Probably the highlight of the trip, for me, was the Mets Yankees game.  Clark knows the GM of the Mets and he got us amazing seats to the most popular game of the year!

We knew the seats were going to be great when the usher sent us through the door that said "Authorized Personnel Only."  We walked through this tunnel, past the visiting team's locker room, to the Delta 360 Clubhouse, where we helped ourselves to unlimited food and drinks.   

 And then we found our seats.  Sixth Row behind home plate:

What made this so fun is that the luxuries were so unexpected!  We felt like celebrities for a few hours!

And then we did see celebrities!  Not long into the game, Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards and their kids walked right past us and then sat three rows in front of us:

And for sentimental reasons, we stopped by the Union Square Cafe.  This is where David Letterman treated my mom and me after we performed on the show.  Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat there on this trip.  We got there after they stopped serving lunch and before they started serving dinner.  :(
